Brooks & Dunn: Reboot 2024 Tour

Brooks & Dunn helped shape the sound and style of country music in the 1990s, marrying tuneful Nashville songcraft with thundering arena rock. The duo painted in big broad strokes, underscoring their hooks with powerful rhythms and loud guitars, a blend that still sounded sinewy on ballads. It also helped turn their career-making 1992 single “Boot Scootin’ Boogie” a decade-defining hit, launching the craze of line-dancing in the ’90s.

“Ain’t Nothing ‘Bout You” — a fist-pumping love song that became their biggest hit, spending six weeks at the top of the Billboard country charts — arrived in 2001 and they remained ensconced in the upper reaches of the charts until 2009, becoming the biggest-selling duo in country history along the way. The pair separated at the end of the 2000s, but they wound up sporadically reuniting as a live act in the 2010s, eventually launching a full-fledged comeback in 2019 with Reboot, a collection of re-recordings of their hits as duets with modern country stars.

About David Lee Murphy

David Lee Murphy’s polished blend of neo-traditional country and mainstream rock flourishes made the vocalist a star in the mid-’90s. Murphy moved to Nashville with the hopes of becoming famous in 1983. For ten years he struggled in the Music City, honing his craft but never catching the attention of the music industry. By the early ’90s, he had gained a reputation in Nashville and in 1992 he signed with MCA Records. Murphy’s first recording was a contribution to the soundtrack of the Luke Perry rodeo movie Eight Seconds.
