Florida’s biggest Christian music festival is coming back to Universal Studios Florida, and the 2027 lineup is official. Universal Orlando has booked Elevation Worship, Josiah Queen, Jamie MacDonald, CAIN, and Katy Nichole for a two-night after-hours event that mixes concerts, worship, and theme-park rides.
If you are planning a youth-group trip, a family weekend, or a January Orlando getaway built around the music, this is the guide to dates, lineup, tickets, rides, and how the night actually works.

Universal’s official pitch is simple: raise your hands, raise your voice, raise your spirit. The event pairs Christian music’s current chart names with after-hours access to select Universal Studios Florida attractions.
What Is Rock the Universe?
Rock the Universe is a separately ticketed, after-hours festival inside Universal Studios Florida. It launched in 1998, spent two decades on the September calendar, then moved to late January beginning in 2019. The 2021 edition was canceled; the event has otherwise been an Orlando January staple ever since.
This is not a CityWalk club show. Concerts happen on multiple open-air stages inside the theme park, typically including:
- Universal Music Plaza Stage in Production Central
- Hollywood Stage near the lagoon
- FanZone Stage in the New York area
Past weekends have also included autograph sessions, a Saturday candlelight moment, and worship gatherings throughout the park. Day guests without an event ticket must leave Universal Studios Florida by about 6:00 p.m. Festival ticket holders stay until 1:00 a.m.

Download the official Universal Orlando Resort app closer to the event for the live schedule, autograph times, and wait times.
Who the headliners are
Elevation Worship is one of the biggest live worship acts in the country. The group won the 2022 Grammy for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album for Old Church Basement with Maverick City Music and remains a fixture on Christian radio and arena tours.
Josiah Queen has become one of the genre’s fastest-rising touring names. His album Mt. Zion hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Christian Albums chart, and he has been a regular presence on Christian airplay and the touring circuit.
Jamie MacDonald arrives off a major awards-season run, including K-LOVE Song of the Year recognition in 2026. Katy Nichole broke through with “In Jesus Name (God of Possible),” which spent 20 weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Christian Songs chart. CAIN brings tight sibling harmonies and radio staples that play especially well in a festival setting.
CCM Magazine also flagged this year’s bill as unusually stacked with recent cover-story artists, including Jamie MacDonald, 1K Phew, Franni Cash, Katy Nichole, Megan Woods, and CAIN.
Tickets, Packages, and When They Go on Sale
On-sale date: September 15, 2026
Official site: https://www.rocktheuniverse.com
Universal has confirmed two main public options for 2027:
- Single-night tickets for Friday or Saturday
- Rock Your Weekend tickets, which include both festival nights plus daytime theme-park admission
2027 prices have not been published yet. For planning, last year’s public starting points were useful benchmarks:
- 1-night after-4 p.m. event ticket: from $94.99
- 2-night after-4 p.m. event ticket: from $134.99
- 3-Park Rock Your Weekend ticket: from $173.99
- Youth-group pricing (typically 10+): from about $155.99 in 2026
Treat those as last year’s numbers, not a guarantee for 2027. Taxes, fees, and date-based pricing can change when the sale opens.
What Rock Your Weekend usually includes
In recent years, the Rock Your Weekend ticket has been the best value for out-of-town guests because it bundled:
- Both Rock the Universe nights
- Three days of admission to Universal Studios Florida, Universal Islands of Adventure, and Universal Volcano Bay
- One theme park per day
That mix is why so many church groups turn the festival into a full Orlando weekend instead of a single concert night. Group vacation packages and hotel add-ons have also been sold through the official Rock the Universe site and Universal partners.
Buying tips
- Buy from RocktheUniverse.com or Universal’s official ticket channels. Skip social-media resellers.
- If you are bringing a youth group, wait for the group-sales window or call Universal’s group team before grabbing random single tickets.
- Event-only tickets generally get you into Universal Studios Florida after 4:00 p.m. If you want morning and afternoon rides the same day, you need a separate park ticket or a package that includes daytime admission.
- Wristbands are typically issued on event nights. In past years, pickup spots have included World Expo near Men in Black and Battery Park.
How a Rock the Universe Night Works
Think of it as a park takeover, not a reserved-seat arena show.
- 4:00 p.m. — Event ticket holders can enter Universal Studios Florida. This is the smart window for rides with shorter lines.
- About 6:00 p.m. — Regular day guests exit. Wristband checks lock the park down for the festival.
- Evening — Sets rotate across three stages. You will walk between Production Central, Hollywood, and New York.
- 1:00 a.m. — Event ends.
Comfortable shoes matter more than a perfect viewing spot at one stage. The Music Plaza crowd is the largest, but Hollywood and FanZone are often easier if you want a closer look at mid-bill artists.
Rides open during the event
Universal says 2027 attendees will have access to select Universal Studios Florida attractions during the festival, including:
- Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts
- Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon
- Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem
- Illumination’s Villain-Con Minion Blast
- Revenge of the Mummy
The ride list can shift year to year. Not every park attraction stays open after dark, and some shows go dark so stages can take over those lands. Ride the big ones early, then settle in for headliners.
Sunday Morning Service
Rock the Universe wraps with a non-denominational Sunday morning worship service on January 24, 2027. Admission has historically been included with a festival ticket, though Universal has required reservations in some recent years. Details for 2027 have not been posted yet. If you are building the weekend around the service, watch RocktheUniverse.com after tickets go on sale.
Planning Your Orlando Weekend
January is one of the better times to pair a concert weekend with theme parks. Crowds are usually milder than spring break or summer, and the late-night festival hours mean you can do parks by day and music after dark.
Stay close if you can. Universal hotels and nearby International Drive properties make the 1:00 a.m. exit much easier, especially with students or kids. CityWalk stays open around the event, so dinner before 4 p.m. entry is realistic.
Dress for a long outdoor night. Stages are open-air. January evenings in Orlando can sit in the 50s. Bring a light jacket, portable charger, and ear protection for younger guests.
Use the app. Performance times, autograph lines, and attraction waits all move. The official Universal app is the live schedule once you are on property.
Youth leaders: Build extra time for wristbands, bag check, and the walk between stages. Assign a meeting point near Music Plaza and another near the front of the park. Cell service gets crowded when headliners start.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Rock the Universe included with regular Universal tickets?
No. It is a separately ticketed after-hours event.
Can kids go?
Yes. Universal lists the event for kids, tweens, teens, and adults. Some concerts run late, so plan nap and ride time accordingly.
Do I need a park ticket and an event ticket?
An event ticket gets you in after 4 p.m. on that night. Daytime park hopping still requires valid park admission or a Rock Your Weekend-style package.
Where do I buy tickets?
Start at https://www.rocktheuniverse.com on September 15, 2026.
Will there be set times before the event?
Usually yes, but they publish closer to January. Do not expect a minute-by-minute grid on opening sale day.
Is this the same as a church concert in an arena?
No. You are inside a working theme park, moving between stages, rides, food stands, and worship moments. That mix is the whole point of the weekend.
Don’t Miss the September 15 On-Sale
